FIRST
HALF
A late goal from Mansoor Ahmed gave Slough deserved points at Aylesbury and
maintaining the challenge for the League. Slough was without 4 regular players, whilst
Aylesbury had recruited and back to full strength. Avtar Davatwal’s side had
trailed since the 5th minute when Aylesbury striker scored after a
defensive mix up. After conceding the first goal Slough forwards started to push opposition
defenders but they failed to level the game, until the 16th minute
when Avtar fed the ball to Mansoor who made the good solo run from the centre
line and scored the goal after beating 3 defenders to level the score. The host
were intent on giving Slough a fierce examination and scored when the Aylesbury forward was left
unmarked putting them 2-1 up. Slough was guilty of missing a number of chances in
the 1st half as well as not taking command in the midfield.
SECOND HALF
Slough made changes at half time to strengthen the
midfield and forward line. Despite a lot
of early pressure, it was Aylesbury who found the Slough net from one of their rare breaks and
Slough GK Mark Finlay saw the ball just dribble under his body. Despite 3-1
down, Slough with positive attitude saw them
moving the ball to the left and with Sukhi Banse, Naveed, and Aneel Sabir putting
their pressure on the opposition defence from deep. Playing higher up allowed Mansoor
to find the gaps and he scored from a narrow angle to make it 2-3. With
Aylesbury stretched due to Slough moving the ball, saw Steve Dixon’s perfect hard cross into the Circle allowing
Robbie Saini to level the game with a superb deflection. Slough went on to miss
further chances and with 2 minutes remaining, Avtar and Waseem Sohail combined
to set-up Mansoor Ahmed who showed his trademark skills to score a stunning goal lifting the ball over the
Aylesbury goalkeeper head on the run and complete his first hat-trick in the
current season.
