Solid Performance

Slough two’s achieved their second win of the season.  Their efforts last week which were not rewarded carried through this week.  Jassi Benawra led the team in the absence of Steve Dixon.

Slough dominated the first session of play. Jesse and Mark Brown in full control in defence allowing the midfield to move the ball quickly attacking along the wings.  Slough came close but were unable to convert their early chances.

A&C broke with a counter attack and scored a well worked goal. With the ball moving from the left to right at a swift pace leaving the left winger for an easy tap in.

This did not ruffle Slough as the continued to play attacking game.  10 minutes before the break Inder Poonaji drove through the midfield to the ‘D’ and a sliped a pass to the ever alert Surjit Panwar who committed the keeper and defender and then passed the ball to  Naveed to tap from 2 yards.

Second-half

The first part of the second was controlled by A&C with Ravi Kumar making some important saves.  Dilip Davatwal became more influential as he cut through the A&C defence on the break.  Slough scored a second from a simple shorter corner routine with Ameet Gill scoring.

A third gaol from Surjit Panwar sealed the game for Slough.  This allowed Slough to show more flare, evident when Kiran Sandhu went on a solo run from right half into the opposition ‘D’. Young debutant Amraj played confidently and was unlucky not to score from a reverse strike at goal late in the second half.

Slough had to play the last 15minutes with 10 men as Ameet Gill was yellow carded for reacting to a bad stick tackle.  This meant Slough playing more defensive and A&C on the ascendancy.

Overall Slough were the better side but were made to work hard for their win.
