Slough Ladies 2ndX1 secured a triumph over Phoenix and Ranelagh after their disappointing loss last week in Amersham.

After a storming start, Slough dominated the first half, winning 3 penalty corners, although none were put away. Lucy Grainger opened the scoring by tucking away beneath the goalkeeper, following a smart deflection by Nimrath Panesar. Slough led 1-0 at half time.

Slough continued to threaten but were unable to extend their lead in the second half, despite gaining a few more penalty corners. Slough got their deserved second goal as a result of a slick move from midfield to 13-year-old Nimrath Panesar, who trickled the ball beneath the goalkeeper to score her debut goal. A goal from the opposition at the other end a few minutes later was not enough to dampen the Slough spirit who maintained their strong defensive and attacking positions and the score till full time.
