SLOUGH HOCKEY CLUB MIXED
TOURNAMENT
Slough Hockey Club,
7-a-side Mixed Hockey Festival, May 1-3

Oi it's On!
On course to become the best mixed festival
tournament in the universe!
Theme this year is "Chav". We'll
have a few bands, a disco and something
special for you all to enjoy.
Schedule & Cost
Friday 1st, : The event will start Friday
evening, when the campsite will open followed
by a party in the bar.
Saturday 2nd: full day of hockey followed
by a 'Chav' themed fancy dress party with
a live band playing all evening.
Sunday 3rd: another full day of hockey finishing
with a final to crown the winners of the
tournament.
- Entrance is £20/person
- 2 full days of hockey
- 2 great evenings of entertainment.
- If you prefer you may come along and
camp at the site.

Minimum of 7 please, and it is a mixed hockey
festival. If you do bring more on the day,
please pay for them at the door. Wrist bands
will be issued to all paid up players.
Team Colours:
This is ensure we have no colour clashes
during the fixtures. If you don’t
know at this stage, please guess!
Number of Cars:
We do have on site parking, but we have
to manage it properly. Please keep the number
of cars to a minimum.

The Tournament is organised under the auspices
of the Slough Hockey Club – Junior Section.
Aims
To provide the opportunity for
young players aged between 11 and 15 to
participate in competitive senior hockey
within a safe and controlled environment.
To provide a development step between junior
and senior league hockey for all players.
To provide the opportunity for new coaches
and umpires to practice their skills.
To have a great family day out. There will
be full club facilities - drinks and food
available all day.
Format
All matches will be played in accordance
with the current FIH rules of hockey. Matches
shall be 30 minutes (subject to change on
the day) in duration one way. In the event
of a colour clash the 2nd team named shall
change their kit as required. The games
will be played on a round robin basis, 3
points for a win and 1 for a draw. Final
places will be decided as follows: Highest
points, Highest goal difference, Highest
goals scored, Lowest goals conceded, Aggregate
result of matches between the teams in question.
Games will played on a water based turf
pitch.
Duration of tournament:
10.30 – 16.30

Teams and eligibility of players:
All teams should consist of 11
players (squad sizes are not restricted),
of which no more than 4 outfield
players aged 18 or over may play at any
one time . Players will only be
permitted to play for one team for the duration
of the tournament. Whilst there are no further
restrictions, clubs are asked to aim for
the remainder of the players to be between
the ages of 11 and 15, and that they try
and balance the standard of young players
in their squads. All players MUST wear shin-guards
at all times while playing. Mouth Guards
(Gum Shields) are strongly recommended.
Cost, Confirmation and cancellation:
Team participation will be confirmed
by completion of entry form or by email
confirmation. Teams cancelling will be liable
for all costs.
Match officials: SHC will
provide umpires however participating teams
can nominate competent umpire for matches.
The use of young umpires is encouraged.
Abuse of umpires will not be tolerated.

Fair play and Code of Conduct: The
aim of this tournament is to introduce young
players to safe, fair, competitive hockey
and to produce players who respect all others
on and off the pitch. Careful consideration
of appropriate adult members of club teams
should be made. All participants must abide
by the rules of the game of hockey and are
subject to the Child Welfare Policy. All
participants are expected to adhere to the
principles of Fair Play, equity, inclusiveness,
tolerance, and responsibility. Clubs are
expected to ensure that their players abide
by this code. All decisions made by the
tournament executive shall be final and
without appeal and reserves the right to
suspend any player or team from the tournament
should it be deemed appropriate. The interests
of young people are paramount. Any issues
arising that are not covered by the above
rules will be decided by the tournament
executive.
